Fairness and equality stories for children

Children have a sharp sense of fairness long before they have the words for it. These four books give them the words. Isabel's Bright Ideas is about Isabel, who is told to be quiet and small. In The Sower of Dreams, Alberto runs away from a violent stepfather and is taken in by José Antonio Abreu. The Tree Woman shows that poverty is about land, rights and community, not only money. In His Mother's Gaze, Nelson Mandela remembers his mother's gaze in his cell on Robben Island. Read one and the others will follow, because every child who meets Isabel wants to know who else was told to be smaller.
