Eco Heroes, projects for sustainable development

For schools, councils and partners

My daughter was 8. She wanted to understand sustainability. So I built it.

Eco Heroes teaches the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals the way children learn best: a story they love, a game that checks what stuck, and a real mission that changes something. Ready for any classroom, in 13 languages.

The proposal

Three reasons it exists

Why now

Children will live with the results of the 2030 goals.

They hear about climate, poverty and inequality every day, usually as alarming headlines written for adults. They deserve a way in that makes sense at their age and ends with something they can do.

Why stories

Children remember what they feel.

A worksheet explains a goal. A picture book by an award-winning author makes a child care about it. Every goal starts with a story, and the games, videos and missions build on that feeling.

Why all 17

The challenges are connected.

Poverty, hunger, health, water, energy, equality and climate depend on each other. Children discover those links goal by goal and finish with the whole picture, starting with Goal 1, which is free to try.

How a goal is taught

From curiosity to action, in four steps

Each goal is a self-contained adventure that fits one lesson or a whole week. Select a step to see what happens in class.

Strengths

What makes it different

Real literature at the heart

Seventeen original books from two of Spain's most decorated children's authors. Children come for the story and stay for the goal behind it.

Children have a say

Every opinion matters, whatever your age. Children help test, judge and improve the stories, games and missions, and their feedback shapes each new version.

No extra work for teachers

Lesson plans, handbooks, a scheme of work, class codes, live quizzes, a printable class report and Moodle tracking. A first lesson needs no preparation.

Every child included

Thirteen languages, read-aloud on every page, text size and contrast settings, captions and transcripts, and a game that keeps working offline.

Safe by design

Pupils join with a class code and a hero name, with no e-mail address. No advertising and no analytics on children's pages. Servers in the EU.

Learning that leaves the classroom

Each goal ends with a real-world mission, so children measure what they changed at home, at school or in their town.

How it sits next to the platforms schools already trust

Khan Academy, BBC Bitesize, Duolingo for Schools, Seesaw and BrainPOP each lead in their field. None of them is a complete programme for the 17 goals. Select one to compare.

Use Khan Academy for maths, Duolingo for languages and Seesaw for portfolios. Use Eco Heroes for the 17 goals.
