Delete your Eco Heroes account
This page explains how to delete your Eco Heroes account and the data linked to it. Eco Heroes is published by Eco Heroes International SL.
Before you start: cancel your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play or the App Store, and only you can cancel them there. If you delete your account first, you may keep being charged for a subscription you can no longer use.
- Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Eco Heroes → Cancel subscription. Or go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
- App Store: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Eco Heroes → Cancel Subscription. Or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
If you only use Eco Heroes through a school class code and never subscribed, you can skip this step.
Option 1: delete your account in the app
- Open Eco Heroes and tap Profile (the person icon at the bottom of the screen).
- Tap Delete account. It appears only while you are signed in.
- Answer the grown-up check, read the warning, then tap Delete.
Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on every device.
Option 2: ask us by email
If you cannot use the app — for example, you no longer have the device — email info@eco-heroes.org with the subject Delete my Eco Heroes account.
- Write from the email address you use to sign in, or tell us that address. If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, give us the relay address shown in your Apple ID settings.
- We may reply to confirm the request comes from you before deleting anything.
- We act on requests within 30 days, and there is no charge.
What is deleted
- Your account and the sign-in details linked to it (your email address and your Google or Apple sign-in identifier).
- All sign-in sessions, which signs you out of every device.
- The subscription record we hold for your account.
- Learning progress saved to your account.
- The purchase record kept for your account by RevenueCat, the company that processes app subscriptions for us.
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Copies in our encrypted backups | Backups are made nightly so the service can be recovered after a failure. They are not used for anything else. | Up to 12 months, then overwritten |
| Technical server logs | Security and fault-finding. | Up to 90 days |
| Payment and subscription history held by Google or Apple | They are the seller and keep their own records under their own policies. We cannot delete these. | Set by Google or Apple |
| A log of payment notifications we have already processed | Stops the same payment being applied twice. | As long as the service runs |
Progress recorded through a school
If a child uses Eco Heroes with a class code from their school, that progress belongs to the school, not to a family account, and deleting your account does not remove it. Ask the child's teacher: teachers can erase a single pupil's progress or a whole class.
Data on your device
Eco Heroes also keeps progress on the device itself so it works offline. To remove it, uninstall the app.
